Swedish Ambassador to Jordan:
“RWI and ILAC has a unique development profile”

“I believe judicial institutes should play a key role in fostering a culture of integrity. True independence will happen only when you believe in, and are able to act upon it. This is a cornerstone for any society built on the rule of law.” Helena Rietz, Ambassador of Sweden to Jordan, was praising the Rule of Law work by ILAC and RWI in her opening remark at the RWI Regional Judicial Meeting and Launch Ceremony in Amman, Jordan, 26 May.

In her opening remark, Ambassador Rietz also also stated that she was “very proud that my country has been a partner of the RWI program in the MENA region since more than a decade. This support will now continue through the new International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC) 3-year program that forms the basis of this conference.”

She continued by declaring that the RWI/ILAC partnership “has a unique profile in our development cooperation with the MENA region through its support to national institution building with the added benefit that it enables professionals and practitioners in different fields to meet and exchange experiences.”
