Sri Lanka

The ILAC Sri Lanka mission, conducted in co-operation with ALRI and the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), consisted of the Hon Justice Howard Nathan of the Supreme Court of Victoria (Aust), Lyn Stevens QC of New Zealand, and the CEO of ALRI Peter Walford. They were assisted by Shirani de Fontgalland, a Sri Lankan born lawyer and member of IAP, and Helen Burrows, ALRI Project Manager. It spent 12 days in Sri Lanka in March 2003. Its report, which recommended a range of projects in the legal and governance field, was widely circulated and welcomed both inside and outside of Sri Lanka.
