ILAC Syria Programme: New documentation centers to be opened in Aleppo

The ILAC Syria Programme – Strengthening the Rule of Law in Syria – is still in progress, even though the conditions are extremely challenging. Just recently ILAC representatives agreed with the FLAA, the Free Lawyers of Aleppo Association, to open two more documentation centres in two different suburbs of Aleppo.

Mazin Albalkhi, Program Manager for ILAC Syria Programme, is happy to have reached this agreement with FLAA, a new partner in ILAC Rule of Law work in Syria. In a near future two more documentation centers will be opened, which will increase the outreach of the programme. In addition to that, in cooperation with an organisation that is already representing a broad network of Syrian Lawyers defending Human Rights and securing documentation of civil cases.
– The opening of two more centers now gives us a chance to expand our program in Aleppo area, and that is very important, says Mazin Albalkhi.

The next steps ahead include opening two more centers in different cities in the northern part of Syria, enabling an expansion according to the planned programming.
