ILAC Expands Partnership with Tunisian Ministry of Justice

ILAC is delighted to announce our expanded partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Justice.  As memorialized with the signing of new amendments to our existing memorandum of understanding this month,  ILAC will now work with the Ministry to help improve Tunisia’s court administration.

This new court administration and case management project will be led by ILAC’s member organization, the National Center for State Courts with funding from the U.S. Department of State.  The project kicked off this month with an outreach seminar with judges and clerks on issues addressing the Tunisian court management system as outlined in an assessment conducted by ILAC and the National Center for State Courts in 2015.
ILAC has been engaged in Tunisia since 2012 with a number of training and technical assistance programmes that aim to help rebuild the justice system so it is based on the rule of law and protects human rights.
