In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the deleterious effect it has had on prisoners and detainees, ILAC member International Bridges to Justice (IBJ), based in Geneva, quickly responded by creating a toolkit for defence attorneys around the world on how to best protect rights of the accused in this particularly difficult time.
To date, the toolkit contains country-specific documents, such as, COVID-19 checklist for defence attorneys, Digital Defender Manuals and templates of letters and motions advocating for releasing detainees on bail and criminal sentencing emergency reform measures.
