Hanna Johnsson joined ILAC in Summer 2022 as our Managing Director and will represent ILAC in Sweden. Hanna has nearly twenty years’ experience in policy dialogue and cooperation in Human Rights and the Rule of Law. She holds a Masters’ degree in Political Science from Lund University, where she now teaches a course in the International Human Rights Law Program.
Hanna joins ILAC on leave from the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI), an ILAC member organisation. With RWI she served several years in Cambodia and in Jordan, but has maintained a global portfolio throughout the years as well. Hanna’s previous experience includes working with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the UN Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights in Cambodia.
This is Hanna’s second posting with ILAC, having worked with us as Program Director in charge of ILAC’s activities and strategy in response to the Arab Spring. And we are delighted to welcome her back now as our Managing Director responsible for ILAC’s strategic purpose, overall operations and activities and European outreach.
Hanna is based in Lund, Sweden.
