Expert in Rule of Law Assistance is ILAC´s New Director for Assessment and Legal Analysis

Richard Sannerholm, ILAC´s Director of Assessments and Legal Analysis

ILAC is delighted to announce Richard Sannerholm as our new Director for Assessments and Legal Analysis.

For the past fifteen years Richard has worked and conducted research in the field of Rule of Law assistance in conflict and post-conflict settings. Richard has focused particularly on developing and implementing assessment and self-evaluation tools in the area of governance and Rule of Law.

Richard joins ILAC from the Expert Group for Aid Studies (EBA) where he was responsible for reports and studies on Swedish aid, particularly in the areas of governance, Rule of Law and information communication technology. Previously he headed the Rule of Law Programme at the Folke Bernadotte Academy.

Richard has a PhD in Law from Örebro University. He is a member of the Swedish National Commission for UNESCO, and an editor at the Hague Journal on the Rule of Law. Richard has published widely on Rule of Law and post-conflict peacebuilding, and also worked as a consultant for international and national organisations. Richard has an ongoing collaborative research project on Rule of Law at the international, regional and national levels, which will be published by in 2019.
