We are delighted to announce that Quinn O’Keefe will be joining ILAC as the new Washington D.C.-based director. Quinn is a veteran of the rule of law and human rights community having most recently served as executive director with the CEELI Institute in Prague. While there, she led a resurgence in programming that supports legal reformers in countries in transition through professional trainings and exchanges.
Her expertise is in human rights and legal advocacy and she regularly meets with U.S. and European governments to brief them on rule of law issues and the need for increased international support. At Human Rights First she worked with lawyers and human rights defenders from the Middle East and South Asia to tailor their advocacy campaigns to better resonate with U.S. and European policy makers.
A lawyer by training, Quinn has also developed and managed grant-funded projects focused on the protection of human rights and promotion of the rule of law with the American Bar Association and Freedom House.
Her regional expertise is in Central Asia and she has a law degree from the University of Michigan. Quinn will manage the launch of ILAC’s Washington D.C. office and will lead our advocacy to and coordination with U.S. policy makers on rebuilding justice systems in post conflict countries.
Quinn will be based full-time in Washington and we are thrilled to have her on board. Welcome, Quinn!
