ILAC is delighted to be working with the
National Center for State Courts on a new project aimed at improving court management in Tunisia with funding from the U.S. Department of State.
This project will assist the Tunisian Ministry of Justice and courts in strengthening court management to improve access to justice and the efficiency of service.
The project launched earlier this month with an event featuring Tunisia’s Minister of Justice and the U.S. Ambassador. With judges and court managers in the audience, the event also provided an opportunity to debate key challenges to court administration in Tunisia today.
This new project will complement ILAC’s broader work in Tunisia where, since 2012, our Consortium has been managing a number of training and technical assistance programmes that aim to help rebuild the justice system so it is based on the rule of law and protects human rights.
With the National Center for State Courts, ILAC ran an assessment of the Tunisian court administration system which can be found here.
