ILAC is happy to announce that Mikael Ekman is joining our team as legal officer at our head office in Stockholm.
Mikael has extensive experience of working with international human rights law as well as sustainability and environmental issues at national, regional and multinational levels. He worked until recently for the Swedish government as an adviser to the minister for the environment where he was responsible for directing the work of the ministry in a variety of areas including negotiating EU legislation and international treaties, as well as in development of new domestic legislation.
Mikael has previously worked in the European Parliament and as a Legal Assistant to the Issa Sesay defence team at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. He holds a Master of Laws from Lund University and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of human rights and humanitarian law.
