ILAC congratulates our members and secretariat for yet another successful Annual General Meeting.
ILAC hosted over forty of our member representatives for our sixteenth Annual General Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden earlier this month. In addition to Consortium housekeeping, such as updating ILAC’s by-laws and holding elections, the Meeting discussed dissemination targets for our recently released Rule of Law Assessment Report for Guatemala (2017) as well as renewed efforts to update ILAC’s assessment methodology and how we set geographic priotrities.
The public seminar hosted by SIDA on the subject of how international rule of law assistance should support engagement with customary justice in fragile settings was of particular interest to the Annual General Meeting participants who also enjoyed a fabulous dinner hosted by the Swedish Bar Association.
The Meeting fully demonstrated the value of the Consortium as a collective of expertise and experience in the rule of law world arena.
We ask that our members please save the date for our 2019 Annual General Meeting, May 30 – 31, which will be generously hosted by the Law Society of England & Wales in London.
We are also delighted that the Inter-American Bar Association has offered to host our 2020 AGM in Panama City, Panama.
We look forward to building on ILAC’s many strengths in the coming year – including its greatest resource, our membership.
