Ylva Hartmann is a Legal Adviser and leads ILAC’s work on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on access to justice, with a focus on Tunisia, Libya and Palestine. She is also the focal point for customary and informal justice.
Previously, Ms. Hartmann has worked on rule of law, human rights and humanitarian law issues for civil society organizations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. She has worked both in the field and at head quarter level, mostly focusing on Latin America but also the Maghreb and South Asia. She has a particular expertise in the prohibition against torture. Ms. Hartmann holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law from Paris II University Panthéon Assas. She is fluent in Swedish, English, Spanish and French.
