ILAC held our 14th Annual General Meeting at our new headquarters in Solna, Sweden on May 18 – 21, 2016. We congratulate our members and secretariat for a successful meeting that resulted in new ILAC governance and programmatic initiatives.
Looking ahead, ILAC used the Annual General Meeting as an opportunity to hear from our Syrian partners and to better organize our expertise to help build access to justice in and around Syria. We also heard from our members and the UN Special Rapporteur on transitional justice issues, Pablo de Greiff, on how ILAC should continue judicial reform efforts as a critical first step in rebuilding justice sectors after conflict.
We are delighted to welcome long-time ILAC partner and recent Nobel Peace Prize winner, the Tunisian Bar
Association as our newest Consortium member!And thank you again to the Swedish Bar Association, an ILAC founding member, and their warm hospitality welcoming ILAC’s General Meeting to Sweden.
