Emily Patterson

Emily Patterson is a Senior Lawyer at ILAC and is leading ILAC’s work on Yemen and Haiti. Emily is a US-qualified lawyer with extensive experience in international development, particularly in the areas of human rights and judicial reform. Her background includes monitoring and reporting on human rights in conflict and post-conflict settings, advocating for gender equality and minority rights, and supporting the development of fair judicial systems. Prior to her international work, she practiced criminal law in Texas. She holds a Master of Laws in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s John Felice Rome Center in Italy in addition to a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Edward’s University.
