Agneta Johansson

Agneta Johansson is the Executive Director of ILAC since 2015. She started as Deputy Director at ILAC’s foundation in 2002. Ms Johansson has worked at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for several Swedish and international organisations among them the OSCE and the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia where she was the Head of the Department of Missing Persons and Exhumations. She was the first Director of the Swedish Christian Study Centre in Jerusalem and Deputy Head of Staff at the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH).

Ms Johansson has an LL.M. in International Law from the Uppsala University, Sweden. She has lectured extensively on international law, human rights and gender justice at Swedish and international universities. She has served as board member for several Swedish NGOs e.g. Kvinna till Kvinna and the Right Livelihood Award Foundation. 

In recognition of Ms Johansson’s work in peacebuilding and the rule of law, the MFA in Sweden has named her as one of the fifteen inspiring women in the Swedish Women’s Mediation Network.
